Discover Paris with a Local Parisian – for FREE!

There’s no better way to discover the true heart of a destination than by meeting with the locals.

Run solely by volunteers, the Parisien D’un Jour (Paris Greeter) program offers free scheduled tours of Paris to visitors from around the world.

Developed in 2007 by the French government (in order to dispel the myth of rude Parisians), the all-volunteer program runs on a donation basis (through their website only). While volunteers are forbidden to accept tips, tour goers are expected to pay the transportation costs on behalf of the tour guide.

To take advantage of the Paris Greeter service, a registration form (request) must be emailed at least two weeks in advance of your visit. This allows time to find an available tour guide to match your specific travel dates.

Paris Greeter tours are available in nine other languages beside English.
