Happy Birthday Columbia River Gorge!

Running as deep as 4,000 feet, the Columbia River Gorge spans an 80 mile length in both Washington and Oregon.  Established as a National Scenic Area in 1986, this natural wonder offers visitors the chance to enjoy recreational boating, historical sites, endless photo ops and to view the abundance of waterfalls found throughout the Gorge.

So, how does a Gorge celebrate its birthday?  Well by throwing numerous parties, of course!  Here's a quick run down of some area events:

  • May 21 - Gorge Interpretive Center Anniversary, Stevenson, WA
  • May 27 - George Amphitheatre Sasquatch Festival, George, WA
  • Jun 11 - Gorge Historic Highway Bikeride, The Dalles, Oregon
  • Jul 9 - Mosier Twin Tunnels Antique Auto Tour, Hood River, Oregon
  • Sep 10 - Festival of Nations, Port of Cascade Locks, Oregon
