You'd Better Belize It

Sometimes it's hard to find a vacation that's truly affordable.  According to the Belize Tourism Board, you can do just that.

For $100 a day in the beautiful Central American country of Belize, you'll be rewarded with accommodation, transportation, activities and meals while exploring their jungles, rainforest, ancient Mayan ruins, scuba diving and snorkeling at the world's second largest Great Barrier reef.

Having been there myself, I can attest this is true.  If you're interested in nature and national parks, you might want to consider staying at the Midas Resort in San Ignacio (from $59).  Or if you'd like to stay at a resort, try the Tio Pil's Hotel  in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye (from $50) where the diving is spectacular.

What can you experience in Belize?

  • a country rich in culture and history with colorful arts & crafts and traditions
  • ancient Mayan ruin sites
  • tropical rainforest bursting with plants and wildlife
  • bird watching
  • zip lining
  • river kayaking
  • some of the best diving in the world, and snorkeling
  • cave tubing
  • amazing photographic opportunities at every turn
  • an array of delicious, inexpensive cuisine options
