One of the most economical ways to enjoy train travel is by taking advantage of the Amtrak USA Rail Pass available for 15, 30 or 45-days of travel within a 180-day period.  It's a true bargain at only $429, $629 and $829 per adult ($214.50; $324.50; $414.50 for children ages 2 to 15).
