There's nothing better than planning a trip to Europe so why not immerse yourself in a cultural experience at the same time?  Take advantage of attending one of these fun festivals in Europe during 2013 and you'll be sure of creating vacation memories that will last a lifetime ;)

Scotland

2013 is the Year of Natural Scotland so no matter when you plan to travel, you'll be able to incorporate an event into your schedule - highlighted festivals include:

Austria

If you love classical music and beautiful historic architecture, plan to visit Austria during the summer months to enjoy:

France

While there's so much to see in France, 2013 brings a year of celebrations in the European Capital of Culture, Marseille, with an array of exhibitions, entertainment, concerts, family fun and more including highlights like:

Iceland

As Iceland considers changing it's name to something not so frigid sounding, the world already knows there's so much more to this country including fun festivals like:
This culture rich country has so much to offer including national parks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and miles & miles of cycling routes through the picturesque vineyards and beyond.  I'm a big fan of the NBC television show, Grimm, and since it's the Brothers Grimm 200th anniversary, Germany is ready to celebrate countrywide:
  • Grimms' Fairytales in Pictures, now until March 10
  • Fairytale Week, March 31 to April 7
  • Brothers Grimm Fairytale Festival (Hanau), May 1 to July 1
  • International Puppet Theater Festival, May 30 to June 2
  • Brothers Grimm Festival (Kassel), July 18 to August 18

Spain

If you're looking for the best time of year to visit Spain, go during the Holy Week Easter celebrations when the entire country comes out in full force.  One of the top cities to enjoy the festivities is in Seville ;)

Ireland

Ireland is a land steeped in history and natural beauty.  Besides St. Patrick's Day celebrations throughout the country on March 17, The Gathering is a year-round celebration showcasing culture, traditions, sports and of course, fun.

Netherlands

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the famous Amsterdam canals.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city's canal district will host many events but be sure not to miss these other fun festivals in Belguim:
And be sure to check out Wacky Summer Festivals to Enjoy across the U.S.!!
