New Cruise Ships on the Horizon for 2014

To me, the New Year always brings about seemingly endless travel possibilities. Destinations unseen, experiences to be had and new cruise ships to explore!

Whether you're looking to pamper yourself with spa treatments, explore the wild frontiers of Alaska, cruise the warm waters of the Caribbean on your honeymoon, get up close & personal on an intimate river cruise, or indulge in the wines of Europe, a cruise is still one of the best all-inclusive vacation values today for families and couples alike.

So lets take a look at the amazing new cruise ships on the horizon for 2014!

Quantum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean
WOW, this ship will produce an epic vacation for the adventure lover with activities like bumper cars, sky-diving simulator, basketball and roller blading. Along with the spectacular North Star viewing capsule (above), newly redesigned modular family-friendly staterooms, and virtual balconies, Quantum of the Seas will first set sail in November 2014 from Bayonne, NJ, offering 7 to 12-night Caribbean/Bahamas itineraries.

Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Cruise Lines:
Starting this February, the Norwegian Getaway will sail from it's homeport in Miami, FL, on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Featuring a brightly colored hull designed by popular Miami artist David Le Batard, Norwegian Getaway offers an impressive 27 dining options, an open-air promenade, two Broadway entertainment shows, an ice bar and a Nickelodeon Kid's Aqua Park. Ports of call include Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, USVI; and Nassau, Bahamas.

Regal Princess, Princess Cruises:
Cruise the Mediterranean in style onboard the elegant Regal Princess. This stylish ship features a glass-bottomed viewing platform, Princess Live! Television studio, beautiful dining options like the Allegro Dining Room (pictured), Movies Under the Stars and a spectacular SeaWalk viewing platform 128' above the ocean waters! The Regal Princess first sets sail in May offering an array of sailing options throughout the Mediterranean (think Italy, Spain, France & Greece) and will switch to 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises in November 2014.

Pearl Mist, Pearl Sea Cruises:
Offering another intimate cruise experience but this time on the Atlantic & Great Lakes, the Pearl Mist will visit quaint coastal towns while boasting amenities like a private balcony in every stateroom, putting green and a glass-enclosed dining room to maximize the views. The Pearl Mist also offers 7 to 14-night sailing itineraries to the Caribbean and New England during it's five-month cruising season.

Costa Diadema, Costa:
Sailing in October 2014, the Costa Diadema will become the largest vessel in the Italian Costa fleet. Bringing together Japanese cuisine, Bavarian beer, and a Caribbean-style split-level public spaces, the Costa Diadema promises a world class experience while sailing the Mediterranean from Spain to Italy on a 7-night itinerary.
