Grand Egyptian Museum

Have you had the privilege of visiting Egypt? I'm lucky enough to have cruised the Nile, spent some alone time with King Tut in the Valley of the Kings, and explored the Great Pyramids at Giza.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. And as if that history wasn't impressive enough, enter the new Grand Egyptian Museum, set to open in 2018! No doubt its' sleek, modern exterior will come to rival the Louvre in Paris while inviting an expected 15,000 visitors each day.

Besides being home to 50,000 objects including 30,000 of which have never been on public display, ever, the Grand Egyptian Museum with exhibit all 5,000 artifacts found in King Tut's tomb. The new museum venue will house a kids' museum and a library, as well as a non-public restoration lab and a research center. And, of course, there will be a gift shop, along with restaurants and cafes.

For more information, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum and be sure to check out Discover: Cairo, Egypt!
